The DVD Foundry Your DV/DVD Resource DVD Replication

Packaging Design
While the development of the project content is progressing, the packaging for the finished project can be designed. This includes the two-, three- or four-color artwork for silk-screening onto the disk itself, plus the artwork needed to support the actual means of distribution. Packaging options include a variety of possibilities, from the venerable “audio” jewel case, to printed cardboard self-mailers and sleeves, to sophisticated lensed cases with morphing graphics. These often require four-color cover artwork for the insert with a one- or two-color reverse, plus the one- or two-color tray insert card. If cardboard or paper mailing sleeves are used, suitable artwork will be created for those packages. The artwork design includes your input, and you will receive color comprehensives of the design to approve prior to artwork generation.

Replication
The approved packaging artwork and master disk image will be submitted for replication. Much like the printing of collateral materials, the replication process is subject to numerous quality checks. Byte-by-byte data comparison/verification is performed approximately ten times throughout the course of the replication process, resulting in the highest quality possible. The replication facility will be responsible for manufacturing the disks themselves, coordinating the printing of the packaging, and the automated insertion of disks and inserts into the selected packages. The completed individually packaged disks will be bulk packaged in cartons. DVD disks are replicated when the required quantity is 100 or more disks.

Duplication
If your required quantity of DVDs is less than 100, we, collectively, must make a decision as to whether we either spend the extra money and have 100 disks replicated to avoid DVD player compatibility issues, or The DVD Foundry produces duplicate copies of the master disk on DVD-R blanks. If we agree to duplicate the master disk, The DVD Foundry will burn the duplicates in-house, on the brand of DVD-R that has the highest available player compatibility. We will label and package the disks to your specifications.
